Different options for visiting Phi Phi Island

No wonder!!!  … Phi Phi island is one of Thailand most popular destination where almost 100% of tourists plan to visit as the movie “The Beach” was filmed there. In order to go to Phi Phi island, the frequently asked questions are how to go there and what the departure times daily are. There are many options you can choose and enjoy your holiday on this wonderful island.
Based on our experience on assisting tourists, our service page can clarify and give some guidelines to tourists, so they can decide their own travelling plan easier and quicker.

Phi Phi island has 2 islands which are Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh. Visiting Phi Phi in this high season, most people basically prefer to go to Phi Phi Don by ferry and select their most convenient time by themselves which are 8.30, 11 am, 1.30, 1.45 or 3 pm then get off at Tonsai pier which is located at Phi Phi Don about 2 hours later. On the ferry, it is comfortable to walk around and sightsee the beautiful Andaman view. For transfer from your hotel to the pier, the ferry companies are able to arrange transportation to pick you up from your hotel in Phuket free if you book in advance and select your hotel zone. Otherwise, you have to go to the pier by yourselves in case all the transfers are full.

On our website “https://bestphukettravel.com/”, you can identify the zone of your accommodation. Therefore, the boat companies can arrange the driver to pick you up at your selected zone. The free transfer is mainly at Phuket town, Patong, Kata and Karon while other zones will be charged extra. The pick-up time and fee will be informed when you select your favorite program, hotel zone and departure time.

Speed boat is an alternative option for people who would like to go faster … 1 hour instead of 2 to get to Phi Phi island at Tonsai Pier with 7 departure times per day: 9.30, 10 am, 12, 1, 1.30, 2.30 and 3 pm.

There is not only a one-way or a round-trip ferry / speed boat but a one-day trip with either ferry or speed boat that can also be taken as it is more convenient if you wish to enjoy snorkeling activities, lunch and national park fee on this trip without doing any preparation. This is the best option for someone who doesn’t have much time on their holiday.

Once you finished your trip on Phi Phi, you can either come back to Phuket or go to other destinations like Railay, Ao Nang, Krabi or Lanta. The tickets can be booked in advance to avoid the lack of seats in high season. However, some of them may prefer to stay overnight on Phi Phi before going back or move to other places such as Railay, Ao Nang, Krabi or Koh Lanta. The details and timetables of these can be checked with us directly on our contact information as can be seen from our “contact us” page.

Things to be aware while driving and walking in Phuket Old Town

Some tourists prefer to rent cars for travelling in Phuket as it is more convenient and cheaper than taxis. In order to enjoy your trip and avoid to get a fine from the traffic police, please ensure that you park your car on the same way that you drive. In Thailand, we drive on the left. This means they need to park on the left side of the road in spaces designated for cars (not scooters) otherwise the police will clamp the wheel of their car and then they must go to the police station to pay the fine. Only then, the traffic police will unlock their wheel.

Please also beware of odd or even day in Phuket Old Town which in the case which side of the street you can park on. It is much easier to park somewhere nearby and then walk to Phuket Old Town because there is less car parking on Thalang road at Phuket Old town on weekdays and Saturday and no parking at all on Sunday afternoon as it becomes a walking street in the evening from 4 – 9.30 pm.

For pedestrians, it is better for them to double check before crossing the road When you cross the road as pedestrian, remember that in Thailand motorists are allowed to turn left at intersections on red lights. So, always be watchful and vigilant when crossing intersections. Therefore, please always check before you step on the road.

At Phuket Old Town, there are many shops, cafés and restaurants usually open from 8 am till 5 or 6 pm daily and there will be more shops at Lard Yai, a popular walking street on Thalang road where you can find something to eat, drink or shop and go back with big smiles. It is worth to come and join in at “Phuket Old Town” where you will definitely come back or tell your family and friends to visit once in their life!!!
